Recording of a door being opened and closed, and then opened and closed again. Very slight footsteps (on carpet) can be heard. The microphone (sennheiser mkh-50) was intentionally placed about 5 feet away from the door and aimed slightly off-axis so as to capture more of the natural room sound/reverb. I have another recording available of the exact same door and mic setup, but aimed on-axis for a more direct recording (it still has a slight bit of room sound - that was what i wanted for these two recordings). Recorded into a tascam 208i audio interface and into adobe audition. Very minor processing (low-cut at 80hz to remove low-freq rumble).

I record the wind blowing under a métal security door. It was inside a theatre. I was with my hand recorder nagra lino. Strange ambiance.

I recorded the sound of my wooden, squeaky screen door opening and then bouncing shut with a couple bangs. You can hear the squeak of the hinges as the door is opened, then again as it starts to close. The stretching and retraction of the spring is slightly noticeable. The door bounces a couple times as it closes, and you can also hear the latch rattling at this time. Recorded with audacity on my computer using a cheap, hand-held piezo mic. The first just the sounds of the door, with both the thud of closing the door and some creaks as it opens again, and the second with the addition of a rhythm made with wooden spoons. This is actually the electric door bell in my home, but it's loud and has an alarm type sound to it. The sound was recorded using a tascam dr-05 version 2 with the mic placed on the floor while the bell was just below ceiling height in my hall.

Opening a sliding door to a lot of chatty morning birds. You can hear a some fire truck sirens far in the background. After a few minutes, door is closed, i let you hear the difference, and we’re done. Recorded with a tascam dr-05 at about 5 am. Converted to mp3 with command “lame --preset extreme” since it’s rather huge. Not normalized; lame reports a playback gain of +21 db.
